Thirteen Furniture Co

I started painting furniture as a hobby about 15 years ago. I bought a piece of painted furniture from someone local and I decided to paint some of my own pine bedroom furniture to match. Armed with a tin of Annie Sloan Old White, my furniture painting journey began and I was soon hooked! After painting everything in my own home (and my mums!) I realised that I would need to start selling some pieces to be able to carry on. 

This was time well spent with my maternity leave coming to an end. With huge childcare costs I decided to leave my job and start a business selling my pieces. 

As painted furniture became more popular and new products came to the market I felt there was a gap in the market for a ‘one stop shop’ for furniture paints and upcycling supplies. 

I initially started stocking Wise Owl paints and branched out into other products from there. I quickly ran out of room for all my stock and in early 2022 I saw a shop up for rent locally and I knew it was perfect for me.
