Chloe Kempster Design
Leicester, UK
Chloe works from her studio in the Leicestershire countryside, UK, often accompanied her pug Leo, her cat, Picasso and occasionally one of her children; she is really passionate about her job, and has now spent well over a decade repairing, restoring, redesigning, often repainting second-hand furniture with unique creative flair; and as a result her portfolio covers an eclectic mix of styles. Each piece of furniture is very carefully selected, and Chloe gets as excited about a Mid Century relic or an Art Deco Glass Cabinet to restore, as she does a tired Farmhouse Chest of Drawers with heaps of painting potential. She hopes to bring individuality, charisma and sustainability to our interior spaces, where her furniture showcases how craftsmanship from the past, in danger of becoming irrelevant or beyond repair - and therefore discarded, can instead be preserved ,reimagined and re-honoured to become a lasting part of our future. Having studied Fine Art in her younger years, the business developed once Chloe began to combine her love of Art with Interior Design, when renovating her first home. At this time she began to discover for herself auctions and antique fairs, after being taken to them so much by her parents as a child, (mostly on family holidays!) And naturally she began to use furniture as a canvas, finding the details and functionality of vintage pieces really exciting to work with from both an artists and restorer's perspective. Eventually she started to create her own collections of Furniture to sell, creating content regularly online for her own brand and for others, and teaching globally.
