Móveis D’Avó

Tábua, Portugal

Margarida Vasconcelos
A native of Arganil, she has always lived surrounded by art and creativity.
The daughter of a renowned dressmaker and a journalist father who passed on to her a love for communication, from an early age she closely followed the process of transforming fabrics and ideas into unique pieces — an inspiration that would shape her path.
Graduated in Social Work from the Miguel Torga Higher Institute in Coimbra, she worked for several years as a social worker.
Despite her dedication to the field, it was in the world of handmade arts and furniture restoration that she found her true passion:
Giving new life to furniture and pieces.

Margarida’s work involves techniques such as blending, decoupage, transfers, among others, focusing on the styling of pieces and sharing her creations nationally and internationally.
In 2021, she held her first exhibition, “Reborn with Art”, featuring stylized pieces at the Municipal Library of Tábua, opening the path for the project “Móveis d’Avó”, to which she now dedicates herself full-time.
Each piece she creates carries the essence of a second chance.
Preserving memories, while reinventing them with soul and authenticity.

Regular appearances on TV Channel RTP1 “Praça da Alegria” demonstrating how to restore antique furniture and existing techniques and materials as well as decoupage.
