I’m Margarita, a passionate furniture painter and decorator with 15 years of experience turning ordinary pieces into one-of-a-kind works of art.

My journey began in childhood with a love for drawing, but it truly came alive when I first painted furniture for my firstborn. Since then, furniture has become my favourite canvas

I especially adore hand-painting, gilding / gold leaf techniques, intricate botanical motifs, and creating pieces that feel like true heirlooms — always unique, always handmade.

Under the name MAG Handmade, I create custom painted furniture as true art objects, take selective commissions for special pieces, and run an inspiring school for furniture and wall decorators in Latvia (both in-person and online).

I also teach botanical bas-relief techniques (offline & online), offer one-to-one consultations on decorative painting, and share tips, processes and joy of creation with my community.

Living in the heart of the Baltics (Ikšķile, Latvia) with my three children, I constantly draw inspiration from travels, nature and the stories each piece of furniture carries.
