Lela’s Uniques

Creativity has always been part of who I am, and over the years I've explored many different outlets for it. Everything changed three years ago when I attended a workshop on Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. That experience sparked a passion for refurbishing and upcycling furniture that might otherwise be destined for the landfill. What started as a hobby quickly became something more meaningful: a creative practice that brings me genuine joy and peace of mind.

I began by repainting and decoupaging chairs, but my curiosity led me to explore further, completing additional workshops in epoxy and clay work. This has allowed me to build a diverse portfolio and bring a wider range of techniques to every piece I create.

Most of the furniture I work with finds its way to me through flea markets and bazaars, friends passing along forgotten treasures, or clients hoping to give new life to a piece they already love. My inspiration comes first from the object itself (its history, shape, and character) and then from everyday life and the places I travel to.

When I'm not in the studio, you'll find me caring for my three dogs and one cat, or planning my next adventure.
