Hi, I’m Emma, the furniture artist behind Ems Upcycling. I transform tired and forgotten furniture into unique pieces full of colour, character and charm.

I’ve loved art since my teenage years, spending time painting and drawing and dreaming of following my creative calling. After being made redundant and finding myself in a job that didn’t truly make me happy, I finally took the plunge. I bought an old chest of drawers, upcycled my very first piece and haven’t looked back since.

Today, I combine that love of art with the satisfaction of giving existing furniture a new lease of life. My work ranges from elegant painted finishes to decorative pieces featuring hand-painted artwork, decoupage, stencilling and transfers, always celebrating the character of the original furniture.

Alongside selling my finished pieces, I offer a bespoke commission service. Whether you’d like to refresh furniture you already own or have me source something special, I’ll work with you to choose colours, finishes and details that reflect your style and complement your home. I offer a free consultation, with local collection and delivery available alongside UK wide shipping.
